Hi, my name is Jessica, and I’m so glad you’re here!
Army life: Join me on the journey…
I’m married to an officer of the ADF (Australian Defence Force) and mama to four beautiful little people aged from 13 months up to 8 years.
Whether you’re brand new to Australian Army life or a pro at all things Defence, I hope you’ll find this blog both heartwarming and helpful.
My family’s Military journey began in the summer of 2020: it was the height of the recent global pandemic and my husband, our children and I had long been isolated and uncertain about the future. We had already been planning our transition from civillian life, into Defence life for five years or so - but the time to take the leap was finally upon us and with few contacts inside the Military world, we had no idea of what to expect or how to prepare for what was to come!
Fast forward four and a half years and we’ve already served at three different postings (now nine months into our fourth) and we’ve stumbled and bumbled our way through long seprarations, frequent relocations and culture changes as best we could, but finding relevant resources, or even a support system for the families of serving members has been hard! I’ve struggled to piece together all the information I need as an Army wife and mother, to thrive in and not just survive each posting!
And thus, this blog was born: An Army wife blog offering humorous and heartfelt insights into the trials and triumphs of Defence living along with any tips and strategies I’ve learned along the way so far. My greatest hope is that any Army wife who stumbles upon this blog will feel seen, validated, cherished and supported in their journey.
Join my email list today and receive your New Posting Pack of customisable templates! You’ll receive checklists for phone numbers to collect each posting, posting specific emergency contacts and a new posting to-do list! + all my new content as it's released!
Whether you’re a newbie to the world of military wife life or you and your partner are considering taking the leap and joining from civillian life: I sincerely hope you’ll join me on this journey! Take some time to learn from my mistakes and find hope in my triumphs and walk this journey with a community who have been where you are and want to support you in everything to come!
